The Supreme Court of Victoria’s award-winning podcast returns today with a special episode taking listeners inside the virtual courtrooms during the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
Special ‘Court in a Pandemic’ episode
In a special episode, ‘Court in a Pandemic’, Gertie’s Law goes behind the scenes to explore how the 168-year-old institution adapted to its challenging new environment.
Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Anne Ferguson, said “When the pandemic hit in March, stopping the Court’s work was not an option. We needed to find ways to keep delivering justice for the community, while balancing the health and safety of our judges, staff and court users”.
In this special episode, you will hear how judges maintained order when the courtrooms went virtual, why Coronavirus was mentioned regularly in bail hearings and whether beef carpaccio is better if you use shallots.
