Information about Court transcript services and suppliers.
From 1 July 2021, Epiq Australia Pty Ltd and Legal Transcripts Pty Ltd are the preferred suppliers of transcripts for civil proceedings in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Practice Note SC Gen 7 sets out the requirements for transcript in civil proceedings in the Trial Division and Court of Appeal.

*Criminal matters in the Supreme Court are managed by the Victorian Government Reporting Service. Parties to a Supreme Court criminal trial will receive transcript as a matter of course at the direction of a judicial officer. For other proceedings a party to the matter may request transcript or the audio from a criminal matter by contacting the judicial officer and/or VGRS.

What transcript service should I book?
All trials in the Supreme Court require running transcript. Orders for running transcript must be placed before 9am on the day of the hearing. All other hearings are subject to the List requirement and Judicial request.
Where can I find information on List requirements?
For guidance on transcript requirements in Lists, refer to the relevant Practice Note. Alternatively, questions relating to the Court’s requirement for the provision of transcript can be put in an email addressed to the chambers of the judge managing the matter.
