RedCrest and RedCrest-Probate will be unavailable from 6pm on Thursday 17 April to Tuesday 22 April 2025. The Registry and Probate Office will be closed on 22 April.

The Supreme Court of Victoria will be upgrading its case management system and electronic filing systems – RedCrest and RedCrest- – from 6pm on Thursday 17 April 2025 to midnight on Tuesday 22 April 2025

During this period, RedCrest and RedCrest-Probate will be unavailable. 

Filing documents

Urgent filings for all matters except for Probate may be submitted during the period of the outage by emailing the documents and an explanation of the urgency to civil@supcourt.vic.gov.au .

If the assesses the filing as urgent users will be able to:

  • file once services resume
  • have the filing backdated by the Court to the date and time the email was received.

An example of an urgent filing would be filing

  • on the last day of an period, or
  • where filing on the following day would be statute-barred. 

For all other filings, users should wait until the services resume on Wednesday 23 April 2025. There is no need to email the Court for non-urgent filings.

Probate Office

No new advertisements, applications for probate or administration, or answers to requests for further information can be submitted for filing during the period of the outage. 

Registry and Probate Office closed on Tuesday 22 April 2025

In accordance with r 3.08(b) of the Supreme Court (General Civil Procedure) Rules 2015 the Registry and Probate Office will be closed on Tuesday 22 April 2025. In person, email and phone services will not be available on this day.  

The usual arrangements for making an urgent application apply during the outage period and on Tuesday 22 April 2025 when the Registry is closed.
