Expressions of interest are sought for the Judicial Registrar - Common Law Division position at the Supreme Court of Victoria.
The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Victoria, the Honourable Anne Ferguson, seeks expressions of interest from qualified persons for appointment as a Judicial Registrar of the Supreme Court.
Judicial Registrars are members of the Court, appointed by the Governor in Council on the recommendation of the Attorney-General. All expressions of interest are treated confidentially.
Position
The position available is in the Common Law Division of the Court.
The appointee will be responsible for early case management, and hearing and determining interlocutory applications across a range of lists in the Common Law Division, including matters referred by a Judge or Associate Judge. They will also conduct judicial mediations, and undertake the functions of other judicial registrars within the Court from time to time.
The position requires a legally qualified (admitted for not less than 5 years), highly motivated leader with relevant and outstanding professional experience and demonstrated understanding of court processes. It also requires superior communication skills, and the ability to make timely decisions according to law.
