Victoria's Director of Public Prosecutions, Kerri Judd KC, has been appointed as a judge of the Supreme Court.

The Victorian Government today announced the appointment of Justice K Judd, effective 17 September 2024.

In 2018, Her Honour became the first woman to be appointed Victorian Director of Public Prosecutions after 17 years at the bar and a further two as Crown Prosecutor.

Justice K Judd took silk in 2007 and has acted in a number of significant inquiries and commissions including, the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission.

Her Honour will initially serve as a judge of the Common Law Division.

Details regarding a welcome ceremony will be provided at a later date.
