Celebrating the outstanding achievements of those who identify with a disability.
The 2017 Funds in Court Inspire Awards were held on 26 April 2017 at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Southbank.
The awards celebrate the outstanding achievements of human right activists, lawyers, community volunteers, artists, performers, writers, disability advocates, community services, athletes, veterans and more, who identify with a disability and who are nominated by their peers.
The event also provides an important opportunity to raise awareness about disability issues and, ultimately, support the development of an inclusive Australian society.
Presenting the Inspire Award for Best Achievement in Law, Chief Justice Marilyn Warren said, 'The Inspire Awards are about extraordinary individuals who inspire us every day with their leadership, example, determination and commitment. It is a privilege for Funds in Court to be able to serve these inspiring individuals.'
The winners, in order, of the prestigious Best Achievement in Law award were:

- Katherine Sharpe
- Daniel Piekarski
This year's event also recognised achievement and contribution in a number of categories, including awards for human rights, arts (visual), community volunteering and community disability advocacy.

Funds in Court is an office of the Supreme Court that administers funds held in court, and assets purchased from them, for more than 5,000 people with a disability.
