The Supreme Court welcomes Judge Maree Kennedy to the Bench.

Highly respected County Court judge, Maree Kennedy, was appointed to the Supreme Court of Victoria on Wednesday 28 June 2016.

Judge Kennedy was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 1990 and was appointed as a Senior Counsel in 2002.

In 2007, she was appointed as a County Court judge, and helped to establish the commercial list, which became a division in its own right in 2014.

Judge Kennedy was also responsible for the development of a protocol between self-represented litigants and the Victorian Bar, as well as an expansion of alternate dispute resolution services within the County Court.

Her appointment (effective 25 July 2016) will follow the forthcoming retirement of the Honourable Justice Ross Robson.
