Written case - Court of Appeal - Civil

This template written case is for use in civil proceedings in the Court of Appeal. The purpose of the written case is to set out a party’s written submissions in relation to each ground of appeal or, in the case of a notice of contention, each ground of contention. The submissions must be specific and concise, and headings must be included to show where each ground of appeal or ground of contention is addressed.

The written case must be signed.

Page limits apply. In relation to an application for leave to appeal, it must not exceed 10 pages. In relation to a notice of contention, it must not exceed 5 pages.
