For the major part of its history, Court 4 has been used for the most serious criminal trials conducted in the Supreme Court. At the official re-opening of Court 4 in 2008, after its renovation and restoration, Justice Frank Vincent spoke about the history of the courtroom and the many trials conducted within its four walls.
He also spoke about his personal connection to it: perched in the public gallery and observing cases as a law student, standing at the Bar table and appearing on behalf of many accused, and ultimately seated on the Bench as a trial judge, for 17 years, presiding over a very large number of cases.
Watch the re-opening of Court 4, launched and re-opened by the Attorney General Rob Hulls, followed by the Hon. Justice Vincent's reflections.
