Personal injuries and dust diseases seminar
The Court conducted a CPD seminar for the legal profession on 5 August 2015 - Personal Injuries and Dust Diseases, A User's Guide to Litigation in the Supreme Court.
The seminar, introduced by Her Honour Chief Justice Marilyn Warren, and attended by over 100 members of the profession and members of the judiciary, introduced the Court's specialist personal injuries team and explained recent case management reforms, aimed at providing a 'one stop shop' for personal injuries litigation in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
A team of presenters, including her Honour Justice Rita Zammit, head of the Court's specialist Personal Injuries List and joint-head of the Dust Diseases List; Stuart Moran, Common Law Division Legal & Policy Officer; and Patrick Over, a member of the Victorian Bar, explained how the recent reforms are helping to make litigation more efficient for both the Court and its users and also provided practitioners with tips on the practical aspects of managing personal injuries litigation.
